Annie Leibovitz
Annie Leibovitz (*2. October 1949) is a U. S. photographer. She belongs to the most well-known and best-paid photographers of the world. Her portraits of many U. S. socialites from politics, economy and culture staged effortfully made her herself world-famous. Annie Leibovitz was at the university in San Francisco – painting was her main subject.
But she didn't get famous as a painter but as a photographer. Already with 21 years Annie Leibovitz made a sounding name to itself with her photos for the "Rolling Stone". She was chief photographer of the renowned music magazine between 1973 and 1981 and created impressively intimate, journalistically photos of many bands and musicians, e. g. from the Rolling Stones and Alice Cooper whom she partly accompanied during her tours over a longer time period.
With the 1980s years the style of Annie Leibovitz changed. It developed into a more effortful masterly production. Her models as well also changed. These are the show stars, famous people of Hollywood and world politicians which she photographs: the pregnant Demi Moore with a naked belly, Scarlett Johansson, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, the Queen, George Bush and Barack Obama.
